August 2023 Newsletter

Blessings to you and your family! I am excited to share with you stories from my latest trip to Panama and give you sneak peaks to what I believe is on the horizon for Barefoot Missions.

In April 2023, I volunteered at a Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Base in Boquete, Panama for one week to help with children’s ministry and evangelism outreaches. We fed the poor, distributed Bibles, did street evangelism in David, Panama, painted some rooms at the YWAM Base, and ministered to the children from two Ngabe work camps near the YWAM Base. It was different from other ministry trips I’ve taken and my first time working with YWAM. The trip was not at all what I expected from a ministry perspective, but it turned out to be an important time of relationship building and divine connections.

God used the time to reaffirm His call on my life to me. Not that I doubted His call, but I’ve been in a time of reset and purging the old wineskins from my life since November 2022. Last year in Costa Rica, God reminded me of my call to share His love with children in other nations. This year in Panama, God reminded me He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor, sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, and open the prison to those who are bound (Isaiah 61:1). It felt like God was resetting my heart back to His original intent for my life.

While working at the YWAM base in April, I made many new friends with the staff members. But there was one woman specifically who I felt a divine connection with, and she agreed. She feels called to the women of Panama, has experience with raising horses, and is really interested in the FreedomRanch. The crazy part (well... actually, the God part) is if I had not gone to Panama and stayed at the YWAM Base the week I went, I would not have met her because she was at a Bible Training Class for three months before and came back to the Base the day after I arrived and then she left to go back to the states for a month the day after I went back home. I love when I get to see God weave lives together in a beautiful tapestry, especially when I’m one of those lives!

I was invited to attend Discipleship Training School (DTS) with YWAM Boquete next year, which includes two months of training at the Base in Boquete and one month of outreach in Moldova and Transnistria. I am prayerfully considering this opportunity!

I was also invited to join the team again for the annual Crest of the Wave Conference in San Jose, Costa Rica for a seven-day trip in November 2023. The Leadership Team is working on our budget, but it looks like the cost will be approximately $2,000 per team member, with at least half due ASAP so we can purchase airline tickets.

I invite you to pray with me for continued divine connections and favor. Clarity to know when and if to go to the YWAM Boquete DTS. And for all the finances and resources to be received by the deadlines for the trips where He wants me to go.

I also invite you to partner with us financially by clicking the donate button below or mail a check with the following instructions. If giving online, be sure to select the Barefoot Missions option in the “To” field. If you prefer to send a check, you may mail it to: Joshua Todd Ministries PO Box 65112, Attn: Barefoot Missions Fund, Orange Park, FL 32065. In Christ’s Love,
